HISTORY

Mountrail Bethel Home began its existence as an affiliate of the Bethel Lutheran Homes for the Aged of Williston on November 1, 1960. The original building supported 41 beds until February of 1970 when the Edna Nelson Addition was built and added an additional 16 beds. Today the nursing home is rated as one of the top nursing home facilities in the state and maintains an above average level of occupancy.

In 1990 Centennial Court Congregate Housing was developed to meet the needs of the community.

In June 2002 a state-of-the-art facility, funded almost entirely by community donations, merged the hospital and nursing home into one site. The new structure includes a clinic and an 11-bed acute care hospital with an emergency room.
